Dambulla golden cave temple is also declared as a UNESCO Word of Heritage site in the year 1991. It has five caves and 157 statues of the Buddha. Inside the temple, there are many paintings on walls and ceilings since hundreds of years ago. This Royal rock Temple is located around 160 meters above the southern part road of Dambulla town. At this point you can see Sigiriya since it is located 20 kilometers from this to town of Dambulla.
